El Coptain

Name’s Omar Obaid. ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Behavior Change Specialist, and I’m an engineer. And yeah, I’m a PT. A real one. Not just some guy yelling “NO PAIN, NO GAIN” at his phone on Instagram. I mean… I do that too sometimes, but it's justified. Keep reading.

I started bodybuilding when I was 15. Not to post shirtless stories, because Instagram wasn’t even a thing yet. We had Hi5. If you don’t know what that is, congratulations on your youth. Anyways, I’d love to tell you I walked into the gym because I needed somewhere to fight my demons… but I was 15. What demons, bro? Homework? The real story is much less dramatic. My older brother Oday wore a tight shirt, his biceps looked good, and I thought: I want that. That’s it. No trauma. No inspirational documentary. I saw biceps. I wanted biceps. Period.

I’m also not the kind of trainer who throws five random exercises into a circuit, makes you sweat, and calls it science. I know what muscles do. Literally. I’ve memorized every single muscle in the human body. Origin, insertion, function, movement, you name it. There’s a reason behind what I program, and “it looked cool on Instagram” is generally not one of them.

While most people were consumed by PUBG during COVID, I somehow decided anatomy books were entertainment. Normal behavior. Completely healthy. The point is, I don’t like guessing my way through training. I understand the system first, then I build around it. I engineer it. And yes, that’s the second time I mentioned being an engineer. Spoiler alert: there’s another one coming.

This site wasn’t built to whisper motivational quotes into your ear. It was built to slap you out of your excuse coma and give you something you can actually execute. Home, gym, beginner, advanced, doesn’t matter. The goal is the same: understand what you’re doing, train properly, progress, repeat. No fluff. No filler. We have muscles to annoy.

I’m married. I work, I train, she works, and she trains too. Why? Because apparently I married someone whose priorities make sense. Excellent decision on my part. Shout-out to her sense of humor while we’re here. And yes, you guessed it, I’m her PT. Privilege? Absolutely. She’s also been lifting for a looooong time, and NO, she didn’t suddenly wake up looking like a male bodybuilder. I’m married to the woman, for God’s sake. If lifting weights had a one-percent chance of magically ruining her body, you think I’d be standing there programming her sets?

And yeah, one more time for the people pretending they forgot: I’m an engineer. Which means I naturally treat training like a system. Variables, resistance, angles, volume, progression, recovery. These programs aren’t random exercises thrown into a pretty table. They’re calculated, efficient, and built to perform under pressure. Basically what I expect from you too.

You want sugarcoating? Go find a cupcake. You want results? Tighten your damn screws. Let’s get to work.
